Paso Robles, California has a rich history that dates back to the early 19th century. The area was originally inhabited by the Salinan Native American tribe before Spanish explorers arrived in the late 18th century. The name “Paso Robles” translates to “Pass of the Oaks,” a reference to the many oak trees that grow in the region.
In the mid-1800s, the area was settled by ranchers and farmers, and the town of Paso Robles was officially founded in 1889. The town quickly became known for its hot springs, which were believed to have healing properties. As a result, Paso Robles became a popular destination for tourists seeking health and relaxation.

- Visit the downtown area: Explore the quaint shops, art galleries, and restaurants in downtown Paso Robles. Don’t miss the historic Carnegie Library, now home to the Paso Robles Historical Society. You can also check out the Farmers Market on Tuesdays from 9-12pm. (Templeton on Saturday mornings).
